Jersey Supreme is popular with gardeners because it produces an abundance of succulent spears — 10 pounds or more each year once established. These asparagus roots were delivered at a set date so they would not sit on the porch while we were on vacation. I really appreciated that consideration. The crowns were huge, healthy, not dry, and setting buds. Every one has put off 5 or six little shoots so far. They are fabulous! The planting instructions showed a new option rather than digging 2 foot holes or trenches, which facilitated the planting, and hopefully the overall growth and week control. They are so healthy after just one month in the ground.

Every year I will have a better idea, I expect to cut a few in three years and by four or five hope to have some to freeze, They are a long term crop. If they do well, someone will be harvesting asparagus forty years from now and still enjoying it.

We started with fifty of your asparagus crowns. They arrived healthy and at just the right time to plant. We were able to begin harvesting them the second year, the third year they were outstanding. It took much longer than expected to receive the plants - but we were ready for them when they arrived, put them in the next day, and they were up within 4 days! They seem to be doing very well.
