Comments about Jersey Supreme Asparagus, 25 Crowns:
My first attempt at asparagus, planted them March 2011. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. The plants seem very hardy and very healthy. I waited too long to plant after they arrived because they did not have instructions included (Gardener's was great and helped me out over the phone). Some of my roots began to rot. But, once I put them in the ground, they immediately thrived. I lost 3 plants of the bunch to some torrential flooding during the summer. It was a little more difficult to plant than I had bargained for (you must dig trenches 8" deep and 12" wide) and when I decided to do this I didn't know I had to wait a whole year to eat them. But, I think it is going to be worth the effort. So far, it has been very enjoyable to watch growing! The plant itself starts out as expected, looking like little asparagus popping through the ground. But, then it turns into "ferns"- mine are now approx. 2 1/2'- 3' tall, lush and beautiful. At one point they had red berries. It looks like a whispy shrub and could easily blend into any landscaping project. I am told they will die in the winter (I'm in Florida, so it hasn't happened yet), but you just cut them back and start all over. This year, I get to eat them. I cannot wait! I will review again later as to the flavor.....but even if they taste horrible (and I can't imagine that they will), they are beautiful as a plant.

Comments about Jersey Supreme Asparagus, 25 Crowns:
Crowns arrived fresh and sprouted almost immediately. Out of 25 I would say 15 to 20 were very large. There were 5 or more that were very puny which seemed odd to me. 22 of the plants sprouted and are growing well so far this first season. Overall I am very pleased though seemed odd to me as far as quality control to stick me with those several spindly crowns to compare with the majority that were so outstanding. 5 stars for those

Was getting ready to go on a trip when my asparagrus crowns arrived. I had to just quickly stick them in the ground so they would at least be planted. To my delight they have all come up and are doing well.

I am impressed with the plants received, and are already a foot or two high. Should have planted asparagus years ago and we could be enjoying it now. Looking forward to being able to use it in a year or so.
