Hula Hoe is a Weeder with a Wiggle!
- Sharp steel blade slices through weeds with ease
- Cuts on both the forward and back strokes
An ordinary flat hoe — the only kind you see in most garden centers — is good for moving and smoothing soil. For weeding, though, the Hula Hoe (also called a stirrup or scuffle hoe) is a far better tool for the job. The sharp steel blade skims horizontally below the soil surface, slicing through weed roots while leaving the soil in place. The blade is designed to have a little play in it — the famous "hula wiggle" — so that it cuts at the correct angle on both backward and forward strokes.
- Heat-treated, self-sharpening steel head; 4" opening
- 50" L wooden handle
- 57-1/2" L inches overall

Comments about Hula Hoe:
You can get fairly close to your plants without disturbing them. Cuts smaller weeds well but doesn't really slice through the bigger ones! But if I got to them earlier, it wouldn't be a problem. Very satisfying to use and I like that you don't really need to bend too much. Next time I'll get the bigger head! I've only just purchased this so I cannot judge wear. I would recommend this to all veggie gardeners!!

Comments about Hula Hoe:
I have a hand tool similar to this which I love. This hula hoe allows me to stand while doing soil work. It cuts thru weeds effortlessly - much easier than a standard hoe. And for light cultivation - so I'm not constantly bringing up deep weed seeds- this has worked out perfectly. I use it every time I visit my garden areas. Love it!

Comments about Hula Hoe:
I garden all year round with my hot-house and this product is great. I felt like a kid with a new toy, actually wandering around the green house hoping for more weeds to use this on. Have not yet filed it to re-sharpen, curious how that will go with the black paint on it.

Comments about Hula Hoe:
Dear hubby had me purchase two of these.
One for me and one for my mother. She is going to love it as I do.
I couldn't wait for the weather to break to get out there and try it. In between plants will work well in the summer. For now I tried it around the flower beds and around some bushes. Just as everyone claimed it works great. Can't see a downside for purchasing one of these. Also, I think this is a terrific idea to rate our purchases. Great product, fast shipping, excellent communication. Thank you Gardener's Supply

Comments about Hula Hoe:
As soon as my Hula Hoe arrived, I put it to work -but it wasn't "work" with this device. I was able to take out all of the unsightly, unwanted plants throughout my gardens within minutes versus trudging around pulling them out by hand or hacking them with clippers. Now I spend only about 10-15 minutes/week going around removing things I don't want. This eliminates the need for weed killer and the hacked up weeds become compost (nothing is left long enough to go to seed). The Hula Hoe is almost effortless to use...this should be included in everyone's gardening tools.

Comments about Hula Hoe:
I am always looking for products for maximum efficiency. Regular hoeing was not possible for me after several spinal surgeries, but I just hate weeds to mess up my beautiful yard and gardens. The yard people laughed at this, too, but now ask if they can use it!
