Heritage raspberries are an ever-bearing variety, producing tasty, medium-sized, firm red berries from mid-summer into fall. They are disease-resistant, highly productive and easy-to-grow in zones 4 through 8. The plants will bear fruit the first year. A summer crop begins to ripen in early July. I am writing to correct an earlier assessment I did where I complained that most of the plants did not survive but alas I was too impatient. Had I waited the 4-6 weeks that the directions stated I would have seen that all of them are alive and looking healthy! My apologies to Hearitage Raspberry for doubting their product!

It was five days after arrival before I was able to put my canes in the ground. As suggested, I made sure they were moist and cool until planted. At this point, it appears only one of the five I ordered will survive. Since I am not sure of myself and am just following directions, I hesitate to be negative. I am hoping to see signs of life on the other plants, but it isn't promising at the moment.

We received 6 sticks but only 2 have leaves 3 weeks after. I continue to water them all but not much hope for the other ones. I followed all instructions (good ones and detailed) but I guess not all can grow so order more than you need.

I can't really recommend this purchase. Only one of the FOUR that I received has grown any leaves thus far, and I watered and planted them as instructed. I've grown berries successfully before, so I don't think it's me.....Generally, raspberries are hard to fail with- they grow in crazy scads here on my property. I don't think I'll buy plants from GS again,I'll stick to implements and supply items from now on.

We ordered the raspberry bed and the plants at the same time. However we got the plants so far ahead of the bed that we're not sure they have survived. Better coordination would have been appreciated. After emailing the company, we got advice on heeling the raspberries in but they had already been in the refrigerator waiting for more than three weeks. Fingers crossed they will still grow. The raspberry bed is great, btw. Perfect for what we needed.

These raspberry canes did not all bloom. I am anxious to see how their growth continues, but am disappointed that only 3 of the 5 are thriving.
