i use these scissors on herbs straight from my garden. If herbs are damp from washing, they stick to the blades. The blade cleaning device doesn't remove all the herbs, so I either waste herbs or spend more time cleaning blades. Letting herbs dry after washing helps a bit.

I have no idea what the "spring mechanism" or "blade stripper" is that the product description talks about. They came with no insturctions, and I don't see anything like that. However, I like the herb scissors. As you cut the herbs, they do tend to accumulate in the grooves of the scissors. What the description doesn't tell you is that the scissors come with a blade cover. The cover serves not only to cover the scissors when you aren't using them, but it has groves at the top on the outside that fit exactly between each scissor to clean out the accumulated herbs. It is a well thought out design.

These scissors eliminate the need for a chopper and are a quick and easy tool. They wash up easily with just water. If some little piece of herb doesn't wash out with just water, a quick swipe of a knife takes care of it. I think I will be buying a bunch for next year's Christmas presents. MMMm maybe I should buy in August to avoid the rush!
