Got these for my mom for Mother's Day, so I haven't given them to her yet, but I think she will love them. We have a backyard gate to the driveway, which I bought these purposely for. I think she will love them and they will be perfect for the gate, so she can hear someone coming from the patio. Excited to give them to her on Sunday!!!

These bells are lovely and sound really nice, but I expected them to be louder. In order to use them as gate bells as intended, we will have to modify them to make them noisier.

The bells look great hanging on the front door with a Christmas wreath. The jute hanger wore through where it attached to the door hanger - too much movement due to wind(?) I've had many compliments on how the bells look and sound.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Best Uses
Hanging on door knob lets you know when someone is coming in or leaving; nice joyous sound.
I just received these bells yesterday and they are nice. But they do need a little holly around them or some other holiday decorations to make them festive though. I have them hanging from a closet door handle with garland and lights hanging over the arch of the door. They are large enough to notice them and they add alittle something extra, the matte gold finish on them is pretty. The bells don't make a whole lot of sound though...almost like a small cow bell would make. Overall happy with the purchase, although a little pricey, I know I will have them forever and can leave them up year round.
One bell does not have a clapper, and the clapper is wood, so the bell "noise" sounds like a cow bell, but not in a good way. I know I have seen similar online, though of course, I cannot find them now. Sending back.
