The pots hang low enough (I am 5'4") for me to comfortably hang plants, water them, etc. I am growing cherry tomatoes in them. We get strong winds over the patio, so, at the base, to ensure the wind does not blow it down I have put clay pots sitting on two bricks over each foot. Then I decided to put pots in-between, so I have quite an herb garden at the base. It is attractive and provides more convenient gardening space on the 10' x 20' cement patio.
The packing material was falling apart when the box arrived, the cardboard not being sufficient for the weight of the package. However, the stand is well made except the top center pole does not "sit" in the bottom pole but the feet provide ample support. I will be putting black electrical tape around the connection (black also) to block any rain from seeping into the bottom pole to prevent it from rusting from the inside out. Easy solution.

I love this hanging basket stand! I use it to hold four heavy hanging baskets full of flowers that are in self watering baskets. The extra weight doesn't strain the arms of the stand at all. We had the whole thing assembled within ten minutes of opening the box. I think probably less than that, but I am being generous. I am buying another one.

Purchased this 3 years ago for hanging 4 upside down tomato plants. With the soil, water, and growing plant, each planter gets very heavy. Yet this stand is sturdy enough to hold all 4 without problem. It has stood outside in the blazing desert sun and the wet winters without significant deterioration. I have never had the stand blow over in the wind, whether it's weighed down with plants in the summer, or empty in the winter. No sandbags on the feet needed.
One thing I did notice is that the 4 supplied screws were metal. It would probably rust quickly and be the weakest link, so I bought 4 stainless steel screws for assembly. If those had been provided, this would be a 5 star plant hanger.

Pros
- Multi-Use
- Very Strong And Heavy
Cons
- Difficult To Seal Center
Best Uses
- Bird Feeder Stand
- Plant stand
The only problem I found with the stand is the difficulty in making sure there is a good closure in the center pot (I purchased the additional pot for the lower portion of the stand). It is not easy to get the lining done well enough to keep soil from escaping.
After removing the pots in the fall, I moved the stand to the back yard and put bird feeders on it. The squirrels and chipmunks can't seem to climb or jump high enough to get to the seed.
Pros
- It was easy and fun to do
Cons
Best Uses
I have planted cascading putunias in mine and I am enjoying watching them grow.
