A Grow Bed is the most efficient garden area you'll ever tend, with black plastic sides that absorb heat to warm soil early in the season, then help retain moisture all summer long. These two-sided extension kits double the growing space of our poplar grow beds by creating a raised bed that is the same width but twice as long.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
Love the mini grow bed and extender. Put on my slope which didn't allow for a lot of depth but I could go wider so this was perfect solution! Looks great!

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I have been growing backyard vegetables in the 3' x 3' Grow Bed for several years. I wanted to expand my growing space and the Grow Bed Extension Kit was just perfect. The only drawback to the plastic sides is that over time they bend a bit from the weight of the soil (mine sits on a slight incline). I had a hard time drilling holes for the connecting plates, but it was manageable. It's still a great value for the price.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
This is my third purchase. They are perfect for my small inner city house. They snap together very quickly. If you buy the extenders you do need a drill - since you have drill 4 holes. Not having one I traded some future vegetables with a neighbor. If I had more yard I'd buy more beds.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I have a big city pocket yard and these are perfect for making the best use of what little yard I have. The only con is that an electric drill is required to attach the extensions. I had to barter with a friend who has a drill to get it put together.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I would only buy another if you can have them made with predrilled holes. It was very difficult for me to drill the holes and put together.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I now have four 3' x 6' grow beds ... 2 were made using the extension kits. First time I added the new extension kit, the bed was empty and it was a done in a jiffy. Second time I added the new extension kit, the bed was overflowing with strawberry plants ... and it was still done quickly! The U shaped metal piece provides the added support to prevent bulging sides. Great idea.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I wondered whether to order another 3 x 3 raised bed or the extension kit. Definitely get the extension kit. There are plates to connect the two together and a bar that goes under the dirt to keep the sides straight. Better than I thought it would be.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I've used the 3 x 3 bed for a couple of years with great satisfaction. When I saw the extension kit, I sent for one and assembled it with my husband. The center bar is definitely needed to keep it from bowing at the connection, and to assemble it single-handedly would be awkward. I've used it mostly for tomato plants with great success. I like that it will not decompose like lumber and that it does not visibly stand out in the corner of the yard (black). I would like for the corners and cover caps to seem more sturdy. However, they have held up for the past 3 years even though I had wondered if they would at assembly time.
