A Grow Bed is the most efficient garden area you'll ever tend, with black plastic sides that absorb heat to warm soil early in the season, then help retain moisture all summer long. These two-sided extension kits double the growing space of our poplar grow beds by creating a raised bed that is the same width but twice as long.

It was very easy to assemble. The lip on the bottom was easy to push into the ground. The black color keeps the soil warm

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
Last summer I had one mini-grow bed. This summer I wanted more space. The choice was either a completely new min-bed (all that will fit on the side of our house) or an extension. I opted for saving money and bought to extension but I hadn't considered the geometry of the situation.
I had dig out the dirt so I could remove the bed to be able to attach the joining plates as one side of the bed was inches from the house.
I had to move the existing bed to the patio for a flat space to work.
Each step is relatively simple but when there are a dozen steps, adding the extension to an existing bed turns into a major project.
The extensions make the most sense if you are starting a new bed and know you want it longer from the beginning. If I add more space next year, I will splurge on a bed, not the extension.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
The grow bed and extension were simple to put together. I liked the black plastic material because I didn't want something that would rot, plus it is a lot lighter weight than wood. It was very easy to carry myself and reposition in the garden. I have mine filled with dirt but no plants yet and I've already gotten two compliments from neighbors asking where I got them.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I used the extender kit to make one long grow bed. While I love the final product, the assembly process was a bit arduous and could be a lot more user friendly. As a Product Designer, I'm confident this kit could be redesigned to be both efficient and clever.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I was very pleased with my original grow bed, which I have used to grow both potatoes and tomatoes (in different years). I was delighted to find I could make it larger with the extension kit and will be growing my root vegetables in it this year. It expands my harvest which is a real bonus.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I've doubled my kitchen garden space from two 3X3 raised beds to two 3X6 beds easily with the raised bed extensions. My only complaint is that the design includes a metal support bar to be placed under the beds at their connecting side. This requires lifting both sides, a difficult task when one side is already an established bed filled with soil. Nonetheless, I look some liberty with the instructions and insead of placing the support bar under the beds, I placed it over the beds and it performs the same function just as well wihtout having to disturb the original bed. The only drawback is that I have a thin metal bar going across the center of the finished beds, but it's really not a problem. Overall, I love the product.

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I made two 3' x 6' raised beds without the braces provided in this package, and they are swayback from the pressure of the soil. I've installed this kit to create a third 3' x 6' bed and can already see it is holding up better. Will know more after spring planting!

Comments about Grow Bed Extension Kits:
I use the grow bed to grow my vegetable garden. The 3x6 foot on wasn't big enough so I added 2 extensions. Now with a 3x9 foot space I can grow every thing in one area. I can hardly wait for next spring to fill it up with veggies. The best thing about it is that it is not treated with any preservatives and will last for as long as I will ever need it.
