I like to spread it in freshly broken soil in beginning gardens. It adds a quality of richness that helps new things grow well and doesn't need to be added every year unless a gardener wants to do that. I had a garden area that was sandy,weedy, buggy and looked worthless. The usual amendments helped, but the second Spring I added Greensand and the soil took on a new life of its own and was less sandy which surprised me.

I tested greensand at first on a section of my flower garden and a few rose bushes. The difference in color, size and leaf health was quite noticeable.
Now I use greensand when planting to help break up the red clay and I also work it into the soil of existing plants. I'm so pleased with this product.

Used product on limited basis at first and saw visible differences between those with product and those without. Have since expanded the use of this product since. Wife "found" product and now she is using it on her flower beds and seeing similar improved results. So, the 'con' is now I have to share product and buy more! Glad maker has put product in a resealable, stronger bag, too.

I use 1-2 times a year in spring to early summer on perennials, especially roses. Love it for the lawn but need much larger bag for this. Improves clay soil.
