Gifts That Bloom
Living Bouquets are Sure to Please Any Gardener
Brighten up someone's world with the colors and fragrance of springtime flowers. Whether you choose a pre-planted bulb garden or a pot of sunflowers, your gift will be most welcome. Here are some favorites, designed especially for holiday giving:
The Easy Way -- Pre-planted Bulbs or Plants: Just unpack the bulbs and add water. In most cases, blooms appear in just three to four weeks. For something truly spectacular, consider giving 3 Months of Flowers or 6 Months of Flowering Plants. The first basket arrives in December, followed by fresh shipments in the coming months.
Scented Flowers: Some flowering gifts are beautiful and fragrant. Consider a basket of paperwhites. Even a single hyacinth can fill a room with its sweet, springtime aroma.
Bulbs to Grow Without Soil: Some bulbs, such as paperwhites and hyacinths, can be grown on water. A nice gift for children because they can watch plant grow. When planted in a forcing vase, the roots are visible through the glass.
Starting From Seed: Starting a plant from seed gives someone a chance to get their hands in the soil -- even in the middle of winter. Our Terra Fuela Collection includes all the ingredients, from seeds to soil. Features three easy-to-grow flowers: sunflower, ageratum and marigold. The "dirt" in each kit is actually Vermont-made Intervale Compost, a nutrient-packed, organic blend of yard waste, horse manure, leaves and Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
