I've used the germinating mix for over 15 years. It always works!! I seldemn loose a plant and usually it's for another reason. I'd suggest the Germinating mis to anyone who starts seeds you can't go wrong.

Those who follow this merchant regularly know this Germinating Mix disappeared and was replaced with the good but coarser Transplant Mix for some months last year. I sieved that to get the consistency I needed for delicate seedlings. When this finer mix came back I was elated: I've never seen a better mix to get seeds to establish ample roots and their first true leaves. It's a bit expensive but fully worth the price in the better germination rate and stronger seedlings you'll see.

Very fine soil, with no sticks, rocks like alot of soils I have bought - even name brand soils! I was very satisfied with this soil!

I use this germinating mix in preference to the other mix GS sells because it is lighter and the sprouts seem to find it easier to push up through it. It does, however, need to be helped along with fertilizer after the seeds are safely up and need a boost. I use PHC (also from GS.)
