Pros
- Easy to use
- Sturdy
Cons
Best Uses
- Shallow Rooted Vegetables
I have recently started using the garlic grow bags. I like them because they have a large surface area but don't require the soil mix the deeper grow bags do. I'm using mine to grow garlic, onions, shallots and I may try mesculun mix and bush squash & zuccini in some this year too.

I ordered this product so that I could have more room in my raised beds for other various things I wanted to plant. This is going to be my third year growing garlic which is one of my favorite things to grow...so I followed the directions and planted my garlic in the fall as I have done 2 years before and I waiting all winter all long in excitement to see the sprouts appear in the spring. To my dismay only 3 garlic sprouts appeared and when I dug into the soil to investigate I discovered that the other bulbs rotted. I have had much success with both the garlic company that I purchased my garlic from and garlic planted in my raised beds so I blame the garlic bag for this issue. I will never be using this product again very disappointing and it looks like I will need to buy my garlic this year...

Pros
Cons
- Hard to move when full
Best Uses
Easy to fill but very difficult to move, once filled with soil and plants. Convenient to place something growing near the kitchen and not have to make a huge garden plot to contain plants.
Colorful container adds to the beauty of the garden.
Still too soon to know if there are any problems, but watering will have to be more frequent, according to the instructions included with the grow bag.
I did not get the color I ordered--got blue instead of the red i wanted, but it is still nice to look at.

Lettuce grows healthier and cleaner. Use them and put away in winter. Just wish they came in more colors. How about lime or hot pink?

Pros
- Convenient
- Good For Short Root Crops
Cons
Best Uses
- Beets
- Garlic
- Onions
This is my first season using these, so I don't know how long they'll last. They are made of a rather thin fabric. So far, they're working well. My garlic seems to be loving them.
Pros
- Colorful
- Lightweight
Cons
- NOTHING TO IT
Best Uses
The bag is lightweight and colorful - it adds a nice new dimension to the garden. It's easy to move wherever you may need to put it. The only downside is that it really is just a colorful piece of fabric that in a shallow pot shape. Hopefully I'll get some nice garlic in the spring!
Pros
- Attractive
- Convenient
- Nice size
Cons
- Not very mobile
Best Uses
This is a nice container for an outside space. It adds some color and it is a nice size. I planted bulbs in mine and it sits under a tree so I can have some nice flowers under the tree without disturbing the roots. It will be easy to store when not used, but the softness of it does make it difficult to move around after there is soil in it so make sure it's in the right spot before planting.
Pros
- Lightweight nice color
Cons
- No Garlic
Best Uses
I guess I'll have to find garlic bulbs to plant in the "bag." I really did think they were included
