Deer ravaged my pansies two days after planting,so I put garlic clips on my hostas and daylillies. They have been on about a month, and nothing else has been disturbed. This week, in fact, there were deer tracks in the garden but NOTHING EATEN!!! (Disclosure: I am also periodically using 2 other commercial deer sprays, because I heard that deer can get used to the smell/taste of what you are using. So, I am not 100% sure which factor kept them away, but will definitely continue to use the clips in my trio of weapons!)

The garlic smell is VERY strong and it does a fairly good job of keeping the deer away. I found that you really need to have something other than a plant (i.e., a trellis) to clip them onto and once my tomatoe plants outgrew the cages, the deer nibbled on the tops.

I've only had these attached to my rose bushes and lily plants for a couple of weeks, but so far they seem to be very effective in keeping the deer from munching on my roses, in particular. They appear to only have lunched on one; I've moved the garlic clip to the front of the bush to give them more garlic smell! This will be the first year I will actually see roses on my bushes.

We live in the middle of 25 acres on the side of the Blue Ridge Mountains so we have an abundance of deer. We have tried many products to keep the deer from eating our shrubs, flowers, and plants. The Garlic Clips are very effective, and we've been using them for 3 years!! Just need to replace them about every 6 months. Great product for the money!!!
