I have a back yard patio where weeds grow between the pavers. The sharp edge does a great job of cutting down to the roots. Even gets into the smaller areas.

I have been gardening over 30 years and this is the one tool I reach for most whenever I go out to garden. It is great for digging out weed roots, but by using the sideways motion you can weed right up to the plant without harming the plant roots. I also use it to loosen soil around plants and to dig holes to plant small plants that don't require a shovel. I always have two or three on hand in case I happen to lose it as I have in the past. The one recommendation I would have to improve it is to paint the handle orange!

I have many weeders and this is my favorite. The curved blade is perfect for hooking and slicing the roots below the soil. I also use it for loosening soil in planting holes. It's so lightweight that I can use it for an extended amount of time without fatigue.

I used this to weed close to my iris bulbs. The blade is not sharp & is very small. It dug a hole, but did not do well at removing the weeds. I'm returning it.

A simple yet ingenious little tool! It's sort of a mini hand hoe. Just rake through beds and it cuts weeds and grasses off below ground at the roots. Easy to maneuver around plants and in tight spots. It was a bit of an impulse purchase for me, but I'm glad I indulged myself. It's been indispensable for me this spring!

Works wonderfully as a weeder if you draw the blade towards you while keeping it horizontal and just slightly under the soil's surface. The blade easily cuts weeds off then it can be turned to dig deeper into the soil to cultivate further. It's such a simple and handy tool and I was very happy to see GS carrying them. They are pricey but are such good weeders that I like to give them as gifts to gardening friends.

I lost this early in weeding season and Santa had to replace it so I wouldn't be without next year! I'll be painting the handle orange so it doesn't get lost in bark chips or tossed out w/ the weeds.
