Correct Alkaline Soils for More Colorful Flowers

Applying organic, elemental garden sulphur is a safe and effective way to lower soil pH. Sulphur is also an important soil nutrient for promoting disease resistance.

  • Brings out blue color in hydrangeas, greens up azaleas and rhododendrons, and helps produce luscious blueberries
  • All-natural, chemical free and low in salts—plants won't "burn"
  • We recommend using the pH Soil Tester, sold separately, to test your soil before applying Garden Sulphur
  • 5-lb. bag
  • 100% Organic

We sprinkled 2 cups of sulfur at the base of new blueberry bushes to acidify the soil. It was easy and safe to use. We were happy to find it at Gardener's Supply Company; we could not find it locally.

Comments about Garden Sulphur, 5 Lbs.:

I used the garden sulpher this past fall to pack my dahlia tubers for the winter. I did check on them every month over the winter to make sure that the tubers looked healthy and were not drying out. I had a very high success rate with over-wintering the tubers and I contribute that to the mixture of vermiculite with sulpher. I would recomment this to others to try.

I used this to lower the soil pH for my seed potatoes. Seems to have worked very well since there was litle scab on the potatoes.
