Strutting through the vegetable patch or pecking around your flowerbeds, our funky folk-art poultry are simply irresistible. Each "flock" member is individually hand-painted and will age to a pleasing, rusty patina when left outdoors.

Comments about Funky Chickens, Set of 6:
Our California daughter-in-law recently acquired chickens - also has a beautiful vegetable garden. This gift was the highlight of Christmas morning.
She and our 9 year old granddaughter can hardly wait to "plant" them in the garden.

Real Chickens don't do well in a high-rise, but these are very happy on the terrace!

One of the "cons" listed was, "bleaches in the sun". I sprayed my chickens with clear varnish, not only made them shinier, but now will resist sun AND moisture! They are WONDERFUL!!

A delightful touch of whimsy for my flower beds! It would be nice if they came with a protective sealant. It was a bit of a nuisance and added expense to seal them before using.

Colors were much brighter in the catalog. Came with warning about needing to spray the chickens with a polyurethane spray before placing outside. For the price paid, I would expect that these chickens would have come "ready" to be used.

My niece requested the chicks for her birthday. Her mom had given her Dotty and Bill chicks about five years ago. They were beginning to rust.
She will paint the birthday chicks with a sealant to get them to last longer.

Comments about Funky Chickens, Set of 6:
A set of four chickens (I wish Roger & Dot were still available!) and three chicks has really livened up the entrance to our vegetable garden. I'm having lots of fun moving them around as things grow and change, and I get the best effect when I stagger the heights at which I place them. Because I like them so much, I did take the extra step to put three coats of clear matte acrylic on them before placing them. While I was disappointed that I had to do this, and will have to do it every year going forward, I do understand that metal folk art like this needs such care to keep. While it's a bit inconvenient, it's worth it to have these guys out there, adding a bit more character.
