Cultivating a Nation of Gardeners and Earth Stewards

We are in business to spread the joys and rewards of gardening, because gardening nourishes the body, elevates the spirit, builds community, and makes the world a better place.
In the 21st century I believe that gardening is a more important personal pastime and social force than ever before; it enriches our lives and it points the way to a more sustainable, earth-friendly future.
As gardeners, we are fortunate to be leading healthier, more personally fulfilling lives with a heightened connection to the wonder and beauty of the natural world. As world events swirl around us, gardening can be a source of light and hope.
It has also been my experience that the very act of gardening builds awareness and understanding of environmental problems, and energizes people to help solve them at home, in their communities and beyond. Planting gardens helps us create a healthier and more secure food system, increases biodiversity, improves watersheds and can even reduce global warming (composting and adding organic matter to the soil, locks up excess carbon from the atmosphere and puts it to productive use!).

Today, more than ever, these benefits of gardening are urgently needed ... and Gardener's Supply is committed to doing all that we can to further the cause. In the months and years ahead, we'll be bringing you inspiring stories about gardeners who are catalysts for change, making wonderful green things happen in their homes and neighborhoods, schools and communities. We'll be introducing earth-friendly innovations to help you garden with more ease and more success. And we will be giving you the know-how to be an expert at vegetable and flower growing, landscaping, patio and container gardening, water gardening, and more.
Cultivating a nation of gardeners and earth stewards—that's what we're all about!
P.S. If you have a story about how gardening has made a positive difference in your life or the life of someone you know, please send it to us. We'd love to share it with others.
