I started using the trap the day it arrived and the flies were gone within a week. I thought it might have a smell due to the vinegar base but no such thing. Very pleased.

I've been using these fruit fly traps for quite a few years and while not perfect, they do come close to eliminating fruit flies in my kitchen without toxic chemicals, which is important to me.

Although I continue to see some fruit flies, their numbers have decreased substantially. This box is attractive enough to set out on a table or countertop, but is a bit large. Overall, I would order again. Worth the price.

The fruit flies would fly right past the trap and showed no interest. It was disappointing.

Got two, and within two days the flies were gone...even near the compost tin and ripening bananas.

I purchased this item a few years ago and refills each year since. The product worked very well, until this year. This year the fruit flies seem totally immune to this product. It has done nothing to capture or deter them. I don't know if they changed the "recipe," or if the product that was sent was old and out dated, or if the fruit flies have become immune to it, but it doesn't work!
