I was leary about spending the money on this rain gauge, but it was a gift and my only other options were inexpensive and cheaply made gauges. I'm glad I spent the money, my mom just loves it!

I bought this for a gift. I opened it and saw how cute the little fairy was and how well-wrapped the rain guage was. Not until I was ready to wrap and deliver the gift did I notice that the stem that goes into the ground was missing. No time for a return. Fortunately, I have a handy husband who fashioned one out of brass and made it match the rest. Possibly, the piece fell through the carton that had a 1/2" hole in the bottom, Alas.

Gave as a gift to a close friend who collects Fairies and she loved it. Chaming classic design and durable construction. She thought I paid much more than I did!

The instructions state that the raingauge must be brought inside during a freeze. The fairy's head breaks off easily. This is not a sturdy product for outside use. Adorable but made with low quality casting materials.
