To keep the blades from getting sticky from plant juices I wash my flip and snip and dry it well to prevent rust. At the end of the season after washing I add a few drops of oil before I put it away for the winter.

The product is well made considering the price. However, I basically stopped using it because the blades gets stuck together. I must constantly spray with lubricant in order to use. I get tired of having to carry around the lubricant so I end up not using the tool. So the concept is good but engineering fails. Too bad because I like tool itself if it worked.
