These Connectors are the Easiest Way to Build a Tepee, Cage or Trellis
- Flexible connectors are an easy way to construct tepees, fruit cages and trellises
- Holds bamboo or other poles from 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter
- Choice of 3-way or 4-way connectors
- Set of 4 connectors
We fell in love with these connectors when we tried them. No more struggling to tie bamboo to make a support — just insert the poles into the connector and the rubber fingers hold them tight. Then arrange the bamboo any way you like, because these flexible connectors can twist and turn. Made from weather-resistant rubber — similar to the material used for car radiator hoses — so you know it's durable. Connectors can accommodate bamboo canes or poles from 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter. Ideal for use with our Bamboo Poles, sold separately.
- Weather-resistant synthetic EPDM rubber
- Each connector is 2-1/8" x 2-1/2"

Comments about Flexi-Connectors:
A great invention making setting up trellises... a pleasure. A real time saver, too.
A little stiff getting poles in = not going to fall apart - so I'm OK with that.

Comments about Flexi-Connectors:
I used these to build tomato cages for myself for my potted tomatoes. I inserted 3 bamboo poles in the 3 holes and one up the center. Took about 3 minutes and they are stable and doing the job so far. Plan on using the 4 connector ones to build a makeshift frame to hang the summerweight fabric for the freak frosty nights we get in South Florida in January and February. Haven't used the 4 hole ones yet but I assume they will be just as easy to work with when the time comes.

Comments about Flexi-Connectors:
These connectors allowed the use of the full length of the bamboo poles, nothing wasted above a tie point. I read in previous comments to use liquid soap on the pole ends to help ease them into the connectors. This was a good tip. The teepees set up easily, in a row, to be hung over with bird netting. I used them over my blueberries, then moved them to my grapes.

Cons

Comments about Flexi-Connectors:
I have used them to connect various sorts of pipe, round stakes, etc. to net berries and other fruit, make mini fences, support tomatoes, peas, beans, etc. Because they grip so firmly it can be hard to insert the pipe etc. I find bracing the connector on paving etc helps, as does warming them in the sun, and using smaller diameter stakes. I expect to use them for frost protection structures come fall.
Pros

Comments about Flexi-Connectors:
If you coat the ends of your poles with cooking oil, the connectors will slide right on. Once the oil dries, the connectors stay on tightly.
Pros
- Easy to Store

Cons

- Flimsy

Comments about Flexi-Connectors:
I fussed around for several days with these 3 way and 4 way connectors using bamboo from our yard. The connections are flimsy. When a friendly mechanical engineer told me to make triangles and pyramids, then I started to have some success. I connected two pyramids with longer bamboo poles and strengthened all the connection points with twine. Then I put the 6 inch biodegradable netting over all and tied that on. It was a fun project but too so much time that the pumpkins and squash vines had grown long and had to be carefully moved to the new support.

Comments about Flexi-Connectors:
You need serious hand strength to get these babies on, but once they are on, they are ON. I created 2 tepees using the faux bamboo -- and then connected them together with more faux bamboo and swivel clips. Hope my watermelon plants like the structure and grow well.
