I have only had these a short time, but they have been very useful in cutting back all the new growth and cutting through heavier stems. I am thinking bypass cutters might have been a better choice because as these get duller, they tend to pull and not cut through. But, if I keep them sharpened, they should be fine. Expensive.

This is one of the most useful tools in my gardening tote, and has been since I purchased it at Gardeners' Supply years ago. I've yet to have to change the blades (a little oil every so often, wipe clean after use)...a classic.
