Two fatwood sticks and two homemade firestarters light even unseasoned wood easily and sustain the burn until the logs are cooking. One match starts the whole fire.

Great for starting fires in my small fireplace and outdoors too - we've even taken them car-camping! Lights easily and keeps burning till the logs have caught.

What a bargain! I just couldn't pass up the price on the fatwood which we use extensively during the cold months. Of course, it isn't cold yet, so we will have to store it until the cold sets in. Not really a big deal since we are also storing our first load of firewood.
I really like the burlap packages. These will make it much easier for us to move the fatwood from the garage to the stove. They will also contain the minor mess which can happen with fatwood. We are so happy to have found a bargain price on a product we use liberally.
If you haven't tried fatwood for lighting your wood fire, you are missing a great product which really works well.

This product lets me avoid using messy scrunched newpapers and having to light the fire several times to get it started; with no paper it makes for less mess. Starting several of these gets the fire going every time.

This is one way to start a fire in the woodstove. But they're only sticks of pitch. At least it is a type of recycled product.
