Pros

  • Better Made Than Others
  • Easy to move
  • Inexpensive
  • Spray Shown Accurately

Cons

  • Spray Easily Obstructed
  • Spray Turned High Is Mist
  • Stake too short

Best Uses

  • Watering From Flat Area

Having depended on simple, but well made, fan sprinklers for many years in the past(that did a wonderful job)and finding only exceptionally cheaply made ones for the past number of years, after the old ones disappeared or were finally broken, I was very excited to see the one pictured in your catalogue!

I was so disappointd after setting this one in an area of somewhat uneven soil with plants of varying sizes, shapes, and heights. I turned it on, and it immediately began to spray into the soil about 3' out on one side where there is an uneven slant. Many branchlets were intercepting the spray, in other spots, diverting the water directly downward. It truly is a full half circle, which requires an absolutely flat surface to it's sides. It was impossible to angle properly for that, and many other, spots.

I had partial success moving the sprinkler to water a larger area, but it was still hitting obstructions to the sides while making a high arc in the center. With the water pressure turned higher to cover the maximum range, it was misting rather than actually sprinkling, which results in too much evaporative water loss. I did love seeing the little Anna's hummingbids in the background enjoying the mist, though!

My old "favorite" fan sprinklers (30-40 yr.'s ago)had about a 3/8ths circle coverage, and could be far more conveniently aimed, resulting in more even coverage in our yard.

Love this product! It is simple and effective. I stick it in the ground and walk away. I don't get wet when I move it. It doesn't have any moving parts, so I expect to get many years of use from this simple, inexpensive product.

We has a 30 year old model of this type of fan sprinkler that we held together with electricians tape until we finally lost it. This sprinkler will not last 30 years as it is made very cheaply comparitively speaking. It will still do a decent job.

        Cons

        • Weird bump in stake

        Best Uses

        • Move hose wo YOU wet
        • Not watering sidewalk

My Mom had one of these years ago, and I'd been searching for a long time for one when hers was lost. You can target an area. You can move the hose without getting wet. I havent' figured out what the bump in the stake is for tho - sometimes makes it difficult to push into the ground.
