These versatile trellises provide sturdy support for flowering vines and climbing roses. Install against any outdoor wall or create a freestanding fence or screen. Made from stunning natural (not dyed!) black bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra) with galvanized steel rivets. Bamboo is cut at the "knuckles" on one side; at these joints the bamboo is solid rather than hollow. If using horizontally, place this side at the top to keep rainwater out of the canes. Choice of two sizes.

The color is a very natural black bamboo, which means there are dark brown/black variations. The weight/strength is about medium so will accommodate most climbing plants if firmly anchored, without being excessively heavy for shipping. We used one on each narrow side of a pergola to provide a place for climbers by attaching it to the top and side posts of the structure. Since it expands, the height and width can be varied to suit your needs. Overall, this is attractive, functional, and a good value.

I am using this screen for climbing vines and as a way to add interest to the garden. I am a little nervous that the cheap rivets will not hold up to the extreme weather we have here, so we will see. Also very disappointed in the color...not even close to black, more differing shades of light to dark brown. Otherwise, it is attractive and looks great in the garden.

Will use for my second cuke planting just ready to trellis. Originally wanted for my clematis but was backorderd at the time. Two comments: I was expected a dark black more.of.a "wash" color in appearance which I like better. Also. Not certain if the integrity is there with the bamboo being different.sizes but I trust and like it enough to order the two more.I need for.the hops and clematis for next spring!

I used these trellises in an untraditional way - as lattice on top of a pergola to help support a flowering vine. It is very nice looking, sturdy though slender bamboo, with a pleasing variation in the dark brown coloring.

So happy to find organic-looking black trellises to place adjacent to the dark screens of my porch. The trellises are attractive but my wish is that they will blend into the background so that my clematis will be showcased.Traditional wood, plastic, and wrought iron trellises would be too distracting.
