Comments about Essex Half-Round Tuteurs:
I purchased this item a couple years ago. At that time it was only sold in a natural metal color rather then the matte black now offered. Description stated it would naturally weather. It has and is now a rust color (with some actual rust as I didn't coat it with anything). The assembly was a real pain as nuts/bolts didn't fit right due to thread issues. The metal bands are very flimsy and bend easily. The holes on either side where the bands go weren't at the same height so the bands aren't level. Luckily this is used on the back side of a patio column that faces into the back yard and when the plants are climbing it covers up these issues. Would not recommend this item for a high visibility location. This trellis does do the job of giving support to climbing plants. Just wish it was a bit sturdier and of better quality. I would recommend anchoring this trellis some how if at all possible. I tied it to the patio column with clear 50 lb. test fishing line at 5 places. This keeps it in place especially in high winds. Even though it's installed into the flower bed almost to the first band, I don't think it would have stayed standing otherwise. All in all this is just a so so product. More cons then pros but it's been doing the job for me the past 2 years. Overall though I really wouldn't recommend this item to someone else.

Comments about Essex Half-Round Tuteurs:
I was so disappointed in this product. From the very start, it took me forever to unwrap all the parts. And for what I paid for it/them, I felt it was of poor quality. I expected so much better. In assembling it, the surface was scratched exposing the bare metal. In order to avoid having to paint it due to rust in the future, I had to buy three cans of rustoleum to paint them prior to using them. I was terribly disappointed in this product for what I paid for them and wished I had just bout a product from a local garden center.

Comments about Essex Half-Round Tuteurs:
I bought this item to support my trumpet vine on its climb. The trumpet vine is small but growing and seems to readily cling to the new tutuer. The quality seems very good and the half round design stands nicely against the wall. It was easy to assemble and seems sturdy. It is very attractive.

So far so good as have just started a climbing Iceberg rose which has only been on it for two weeks. May actually not be quite as wide as we would need!

Comments about Essex Half-Round Tuteurs:
I had high hopes for this item. I thought the half round would look great next to our house. This would be great if the metal was thicker and more rigid. The hardware was mismatched. The nuts don't match the bolt threads. The hardware has rusted after a few months. I hope you improve the construction so the tuteur will be more rigid and long lasting.

Comments about Essex Half-Round Tuteurs:
The big secrete here is to find the directions hidden behind and inside the address label. In other words if you already tossed the box you are on your own. With the directions the 7 foot trellis assembly is a time consuming process, but not difficult. They do look great once set up, and serve their purpose. The half trellis is a great solution for along a wall. Although they should be secured to the wall or the vines will eventually pull the trellis away from the wall. I haven't found a way yet to secure them. I bought two at [$] each I think they are overpriced, but they look simple and elegant in front of the pillars of my house. So in an effort to match them I most likely will invest in 4 more. I will definitely buy more if they lower the price to 40$ each.
