Comments about English Rain Barrels:
The best part of these is that they have a low center of gravity and an understated profile and that the lids come off for dipping. The hose works fine, but I'm impatient. I love being able to water my patio flowers without having to drag the hose clear across the yard from the garden ( I share a hose with my husband/the vegetable garden ) I have another rain barrel in the garden, but didn't use it much since it took much longer to fill up this dry summer than the one under the downspout. I will move the garden one to the side of the house opposite the outdoor faucet. It is shady there, but during dry summers like this last, our ferns and shade plants suffered. Its too much trouble to drag the hose over there, too, so we hoped for rain, which didn't oblige. I love this product and feel good using it.

Comments about English Rain Barrels:
Had ours for years, use it to collect CENTRAL A/C water and rain! We don't even waste our A/C water.
You'd be amazed how much drips from the unit--onto our porch roof and down the spout into the rain barrel!
I put plants on the top (on smaller hole for water but good sturdy solid plastic around opening) and my ferns and other water/moisture-loving plants love their weekly shower and drink!
The water drips slowly from A/C and it really soaks the plants!
LOVE it and when I can afford it--will buy another and a link kit.

Cons
- Difficult To Use
- Inefficient

Comments about English Rain Barrels:
Should have done this years ago. Our first rain barrel, and this was an attractive and highly functional choice. The small screen in the lid does keep undesirable particles and bugs out. Even without raising on a platform, the water pressure is adequte to fill watering cans. We will eventually raise it on pavers. Thinking about another for the other side of the house, one good rainstorm fills it!
