Comments about English Rain Barrels:
Loved my first English rain barrel so much that I decided to add another this summer and am considering a third for next summer. It's been unusually hot and dry here this year, so it has really come in handy for keeping my outdoor plants and shrubs healthy without having to pay for city water.

First one worked like a charm. Bought a second one for the other side of the house.

Had ours for years, use it to collect CENTRAL A/C water and rain! We don't even waste our A/C water.
You'd be amazed how much drips from the unit--onto our porch roof and down the spout into the rain barrel!
I put plants on the top (on smaller hole for water but good sturdy solid plastic around opening) and my ferns and other water/moisture-loving plants love their weekly shower and drink!
The water drips slowly from A/C and it really soaks the plants!
LOVE it and when I can afford it--will buy another and a link kit.

Comments about English Rain Barrels:
Should have done this years ago. Our first rain barrel, and this was an attractive and highly functional choice. The small screen in the lid does keep undesirable particles and bugs out. Even without raising on a platform, the water pressure is adequte to fill watering cans. We will eventually raise it on pavers. Thinking about another for the other side of the house, one good rainstorm fills it!

Comments about English Rain Barrels:
These are flimsy and the second season it sprung a leak. These cannot be used as a closed system so you must have an area for overflow. Would never recommend these! Their only redeeming value is that you can take the lid off to dip in a watering can.

Comments about English Rain Barrels:
Perfect size for a small backyard garden. Fills very quickly with little rain. Reasonably priced and looks nice. I love the idea of using free rain water for the plants/veggies instead of chlorinated etc tap water which we pay for. Only thing - as the water level gets low in the barrel the hose pressure drops and it takes forever to fill watering cans. Maybe it would work better placed up on a stand?

Comments about English Rain Barrels:
The rain barrel is beautiful, very well constructed and low in height which makes it fit well behind the shrubs. I will be buying more for the rest of the yard. I would highly recommed this product.
