I have used the same DIG water timer for about 7 years for a plant drip watering system. It has been very dependable, but I just noticed that there is a leak where it screws onto the hose bib, so I'm going to replace it. Likely the result of freezing weather last winter. It is very customizable; I water my plants in summer for 5 minutes each morning and 5 minutes each afternoon (Houston heat), but it can be programmed for as short as 1 minute. In 7 years I've only replaced the battery about 2 times. I highly recommend this product.

This timer was a disappointment. It was made out of cheap plastic. The first time I went to use it, it fell a short distance, and would not turn on afterwards. I've had timers from [@] that were less expensive and much more resilient, so I'll be going back there.

I read other reviews mentioning problems with this water timer, but decided to give it a try anyway. I needed something to use with soaker hoses while away for a week on vacation. The display didn't work at all as received [...]. We had to buy a timer from our local hardware store instead. I will be returning this one.

It took a few tries to figure out how to set the timer, but once it was done, the garden can water itself. It has the ability to water the garden/lawn up to 4 times a day each day of the week. Once it is set you can just forget about it!

I set these up before leaving for 2 months. Our house sitters didn't need to worry about them unless we got torrential rains, and then, they were simple to shut off. And for all those who complained they leak, I haven't had so much as a drop wasted, however, when I installed them, I gave the threads a good coating of Teflon paste, the same stuff used by plumbers for installing screw on fittings.
