Comments about Diatomaceous Earth, 4 Lbs.:
This product is very effective on ants but very messy on my walks and driveway. Maybe if it were a brown color to blend in instead of stark white, it wouldn't look so bad. Also, if it could be in an easy to apply container.

Comments about Diatomaceous Earth, 4 Lbs.:
The Pennsylvania Horticulture Society recommended this to get rid of gnats that were making a home in our houseplants this past winter. It is an all natural product that I believe is used in organic gardens. You don't want to breath it in though, so apply when there is no breeze or wear a dust mask. I recommend getting a fine grate shaker with a lid or making one out of a coffee can. It works by shredding the bugs exoskeletons, or in my case the gnat larvae that were breeding in my houseplants. I applied this once in January and have not had any more bugs on my houseplants despite watering. It seems to last every watering since. Gardener's Supply price is a little expensive.

Comments about Diatomaceous Earth, 4 Lbs.:
I have used this product with great results in my chicken coop and even on the hens, but be careful. DE does not just kill "bad" bugs. It kills ALL insects including beneficial pollinators, honeybees, and butterflies. Those consumers dusting it all over their flowers and vegetables are not helping their yield....

Comments about Diatomaceous Earth, 4 Lbs.:
Very fine powder, so be sure to apply on a calm day. And it will need to be reapplied after even a light rain. That said, once I started sprinkling it on my squash, the bugs stopped turning the leaves into "lace".

Comments about Diatomaceous Earth, 4 Lbs.:
When I was pregnant w/our first child, our animals became flea-infested, and I did not want chemicals around my growing belly/baby. DE worked PERFECTLY--fleas were gone, house was clean again.
I sprinkle in my veggie garden, and it keeps earwigs/all "bad" bugs away. Yippee!

Comments about Diatomaceous Earth, 4 Lbs.:
We were having problems with fleas in our backyard and on our dog. We were having a hard time controling them with just the flea products we put on our dog. He still had fleas. So when I saw this product on this site, and the excellent reviews for killing fleas. I decided to try it. It worked! Dog has been flea free since!
