    Cucumbers, yes. Peas too!

    • Pea Trellis
    • Vines

I bought two of these to fit in my 8 foot long beds. It takes them both for three Marketmore cucumber vines, but this absolutely keeps them off the ground with minimal training. I planted sugar ann peas on it in the early spring and draped floating row cover right over the trellis to keep rabbits out. It worked like a charm. Looks nice too. I have had these trellises for more than a year and they still look like new. Quality product.

Last year I grew so many cucumbers and melons, they took up so much space and I had no where to step. This solved all those problems, now the vines go up and over. I can move between plants easier, and the harvesting is simple. When the plants are finished this stores easily in the shed for next season. Also great for vining flowers, I've made some pretty designs from the flowers with this as a base.

Works Great. Attractive, but won't be able to see after plants grow over them. Put two together so it is longer. Going to buy two more

This support assembles easily and is an attractive addition to the garden. It can be used to straddle 2 rows (for row gardens) or can stretch across a raised bed, with room beneath for growing lettuce, etc.

Keeps the vines off the ground and the cukes really do grow through the openings of the trellis

I planted 4 cucumber plants, two on each end, and they will fill the trellis when full grown. I used my own aluminum stakes to secure it against strong wind and rain. Very attractive.

The best way to grow cukes

                  By Ajax

                  from Northern Colorado

I grew great cukes last year but they took over half my garden with spreading vines. And I really don't like the half yellow cucumbers you get with them laying on the ground. I used hog fence and some fence stakes to make a trellace. I am so impressed with how the plants are growing. They are bigger and better than ever, and not taking up any more space than the raised bed they are planted in.

This angled one is interesting, the fruit hanging down from the fence like they show rather than vertical like mine would make harvesting easier.

Either way you go, going up with cukes rather than out is the way to go! You will wonder why you ever grew em on the ground.

This was easy to assemble and install in the garden. So far the cucumbers are doing great on it. I used some garden wire attached to some metal tent stakes to help secure it in case of high winds. Prior to this item, I had been lining up tomato cages side by side. I'm excited to see the end result this fall, but so far it is a good looking practical, and sturdy addition to my suburban, raised bed.

I am using this one for cantaloupe. So far it is doing well. It is a bit expensive but it is saving me tons of room to grow melons where I have no space for such a long vining plant.
