          Comments about Cubby Benches:

Poor quality, really should only be worth 1/4 the retail price (and that should include the baskets and cushion). To get it all, it cost over $300. What a rip off. Appears as if most items in their catalog are outrageously overpriced. You will do better elsewhere. First one arrived damaged as well as the replacement. Poor packaging design all but ensures the bench will be damaged by the time it gets to you. Overpriced cushions and baskets as well. Can get your own, nicer baskets anywhere else for cheaper. Bench should have been made from real hardwood for the price paid, not particle board. If I wanted cheap particle board furniture, I would have gone to[...].

This product is painted particle board. I ordered one large and one medium and both had the bottom front piece broke when I received it. After putting together you have to be careful when moving as I pulled the top end piece off when I picked it up. This is a piece of cheap junk that will not last.

it was not what I expected ... for the price it should have been stronger, more reliable. I would not allow anyone to "sit" on this bench, not even a child.

            Comments about Cubby Benches:

I cannot use as received and sent part back to be replaced. However, I was not smart enough when I checked products upon receipt to notice other flaws in parts and wrong size screws. They sent 5/8 inch Phillips screws, not the required 1-5/8 inch as described in instructions. I am old and had to wait for assistance in putting this bench together and discovered the many poor quality & erroneous parts sent. I order a lot of things by catalog and have to say this is by far the worst product I have ever received from catalogs. I have to hire people to do work for me and they just laughed at this product. Even the baskets had loose pieces.

Purchased the bench with baskets and the wall shelf for a child's bathroom; the small size was important. The baskets are for toiletries, the hook for robes, and the shelves for folded towels. It would be perfect, except the quality is inferior. I would be nervous for an adult to sit on the bench! I will fill the gaps and repaint; hopefully, the end result will be ok. Only recommend for child's use.

When I read the description of the bench, I thought it was going to come assembled and was unpleasantly surprised when it was not. Then the directions that were included were of poor quality and appeared that they were thrown together in the back of a warehouse with very poor black and white photos and even worse explanations. The bench is not overly sturdy by any means. I feel that the quality of this bench is something that I would have expected from a bargain retailer.

Scarves, gloves, winter hats await their season, out of sight, out of mind; ditto market sacks, LL.Bean totes equally out of sight but near to hand, stowed in the two well-made fairly priced baskets. First snow will indicate how good the bench is for putting on boots.

And I can imagine lining up a couple or three of these units against a wall at the unused end of a first-floor room to accomodate ALL the cultch unamendable to hooks or hangers in the mud room or front hall.

                    Comments about Cubby Benches:

I had hoped to use this in our entryway - the small size was perfect. The first two were sent to me already assembled. Both times, pieces of the bench fell off when I removed it from the box. Customer service said they'd had some issues with shipping, so the third bench sent to me came assembly required. The back piece was too small for the unit and had no pre-drilled holes. Plus a side piece was broken. Since I couldn't find another anywhere of this width, I tried a fourth[...]. The first piece I pulled out of the box fell apart. So I gave up and sent it all back.

                    Comments about Cubby Benches:

We searched high and low for a bench for our shoes in our entryway. We were challenged by the fact it had to be less than 36" wide so this seemed a good fit. It does fit the space well and was what we expected. The only knock I have is the quality of the finish is pretty poor. While the sides of the panels are nice and smooth, the edges are quite rough and the difference if visible from several feet away.
