This cottage birdhouse is very adorable and the coloring is very bright. However, do not use it outdoors as it will fall apart. Within 2 weeks of being outside, the bottom came off. Thankful my husband repaired it by putting four screws in the bottom. My neighbor also bought the bird house and she had the same issue. It should be labelled in the catalog and on line as INDOOR USE ONLY.

....unless you live where it NEVER rains. LOVED the fact this little house had a clean-out door to remove previous nesting material. BUT, after less than a week BOTH bottoms had fallen off and were on the ground. Birds must have been shocked to look in and see no floor. Upon inspecting it, I noticed there were holes in the base that should have been used to screw it to the body of the house, BUT the holes didn't line up, therefore useless. GS credited my account. They should be discontinuied completely.

Purchased 2 blue bird houses. Bottom fell off both in 4 days. Obviously wrong glue. Paint also cracking. Must be for inside use.

- Assembly Is Shoddy

Thankfully, no birds had yet taken up residence: the bottom fell off the birdhouse!!! It rained, & the house was in pieces!! Just gluing the bottom on is not good construction for outdoor usage.
Your catalog description did not indicate "some assembly required."
Wonder when the house 'disconnects' from the roof...

Very cute little birdhouse, but I don't expect it will last too many years outside. Description was accurate so this is the quality I expected to receive.

I was very excited to finally get this bird house after it was on back order for 2 months. I started to hear our neighborhood House Wren who has nested in our yard for years, so put it out quickly to replace our old house that's worn out. After 2 weeks outside including very hot temperatures and cooler temperatures and rain I was surprised to see the bottom of the house in the bushes and once I removed the house, I noticed that the paint was blistered and the wood had cracked. The house is NOT sturdy enough for actual birds to live in. I will no longer buy bird houses from Gardener Supply. I'm just happy it fell apart before there was a nest with eggs inside!

This birdhouse is very nice, and cute. Haven't put it outside yet, so I don't know if the birds will like it.
