Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
Maybe I didn't read all the information about this product, but I was surprised to find it so flimsy. I thought it might be thin metal that I could force into the ground around my newly sprouted beans and cucumbers. It is like paper and was difficult to place around my plants. I haven't noticed the snails eating my plants yet, so hopefully it is working to deter them. I will reserve any other comments until I have more experience with the product.

Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
I use containers for gardening and the slugs were eating plants down to the bare stem. I put the tape around the containers and they stay out.
It tears occasionally, but the adhesive is good, so it's easy to piece together.

Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
Just what I've been looking for that keeps slugs from eating herbs in pots, vegetables in raised beds and other plants in pots that slugs like. I would make the tape a little wider since I put two rows of it on each pot and raised garden bed.

Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
I can't speak to whether it's long lasting, but I put it around two of my raised beds and have definitely seen that those beds are slug-free and my others are not. Ordering more of the tape now for my other beds!

- Easy to Apply
Cons

Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
Great concept, but the tape does not stay on for very long. After several spring rains the tape started coming off my raised beds. Would be better if was a bit thicker and could be nailed on.

Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
I have a hosta in a large pot that was being eaten by snails, so I bought some of the copper tape to thwart them. I had visions of the nasty things being zapped and waited to see what would happen as they crossed the tape. Nothing. They glided across it like they were ice skating, so now I'm back to using Deadline.

Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
Like one of the other reviewers, I did a comparison test to see how well this would work.
Using three raised vegetable beds, I applied the tape around the outside of the first, used an organic anti-slug pellet product on the second, and left the third alone. Both the tape and the pellets virtually eliminated slug damage (hurray!)... but with the tape being a permanent solution and the pellets needing to be repurchased/reapplied, the tape came out the winner in my book.
Great, long-lasting product. If putting around a large bed, I'd suggest adding some penny-nails here and there to hold it in place instead of relying on the adhesive long term.
Pros
- A neat idea
Cons
- none
Best Uses
- Prevent slugs in garden
Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
This seems like such a great idea. I received the tape a few days ago and applied it around the upper edges of my raised beds. So far, NO SLUGS, and I hope this continues for the rest of the growing season! If so, it is one heck of a great product!
Comments about Copper Slug Tape:
I put two pots side-by-side on my patio, one with a circle of copper tape around the rim and one without. Both were planted with basil seedlings (snail favorites). The copper tape pot is doing great, and the no-tape seedlings were completely nibbled away. Love this tape.
