Comments about Compost Tumbler:
I am a beginner composter. It isn't rocket science however and putting your compostable items in and sponging everyday is so easy. It does take a bit for the composting process to take affect but this is the best way to give your garden what it needs. And in an easy to use product.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
I've had this composter for a few years now and I'm pretty disappointed in it. Its very hard to get the finished compost out and the material in the bin stays wet all the time despite frequent turning. There are not enough air holes. Because of that the compost tends to have an unpleasant odor as well. On the plus side its very easy to turn.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
This product arrived and was easy to assemble, but the construction is poor - please invest in quality screws, and the framing also seems like it would not withstand being outdoors. It also takes up a lot of space for just being a tumbler. Sorry, i think i will return.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
I bought this tumbler as a novice composter/ gardener and found it very easy to use. It is sturdy and well-made, and has held up well to our scorching Texas summer. The odor is fairly minimal (worst when just turned) and I have had no problems with critters. I am able to turn it myself even though I'm a small person.
The tumbler's major drawback is its small capacity- two of them do not even begin to accomodate our yard waste.
My primary goal in composting is to divert waste from my trash can/ the landfill, rather than to get compost for my garden, so I can't speak to the quality of the finished product. When my batches are close to done, I load them up with new material over the old and start again.
We were warned by another reviewer that the legs are prone to rust, and followed his/her recommendation to spray them with an anti-rust coating.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
I have had the standard upright composter for awhile now but have always had trouble turning it properly. Call me weak, but I find it hard to pull the material from the bottom and bring it to the top...and I had tried the "sticks" that you jam down into the compost that then have tines which pop out and are supposed to turn the compost as you do it with no luck. I just never felt as though it was turning very well. Long story short, I have finally figured out a system which works for me: I continuously add kitchen scraps and yard waste to my big green composter throughout the year....then I use this tumbler to make proper "batches" of compost during the growing season. I can more easily add the proper ratio of browns and greens to the tumbler, add a little starter (although I have also produced compost without the starter), and turn it very easily every day.
The ease with which you can now turn your compost is the key here - not only breaks up the larger pieces of debris, but aerates as well and keeps the microorganisms happy and producing loads of great compost for you. OH, and another great bonus? I regularly have snakes in my tower composter (which is fine, but they startle me)...they can't get into my tumbler. So if you're deathly afraid of snakes but like to garden, this might be the composter for you! I would highly recommend this to anyone!

So far pleased. I haven't had product long enough to determine its full usefulness.
Too easy to utilize, better than previous 'tower' composter.
