The Gardener's Supply Tumbling Composter has a smart design and high-quality materials make this new compost tumbler super effective and easy to use. Just fill it up with garden refuse, slide the door closed and give it a turn every couple days. The built-in hand-holds provide easy leverage; a stabilizing inner crossbar helps breaks up compost during turning; black color absorbs heat. Rodent-proof design keeps pests out.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
So far pleased. I haven't had product long enough to determine its full usefulness.
Too easy to utilize, better than previous 'tower' composter.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
These bins have been perfect for us. We have a large bin with walls but wanted something for our kitchen scraps that would keep out pests such as rats. We have three of these. They fit the bill. We just harvested our first round of compost from them. Great.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
Someone had given us a large, old barrel-shape composter. It was just too difficult to churn and too beaten-up. We ordered yours and are so happy with how easy it is to fill and rotate. This is our first season to use it and look forward to the compost it will produce that we can lay down in the Spring.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
Tried and tried mixing leaves and grass clippings, some kitchen scraps. Mostly we got dense clods of material that are too hard to break into bits. I am going to throw out all the compost we made. I think the problem is that when it tumbles it does not actually mix.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
I wish the ad had told me I also needed to buy special compost starter stuff, too, which made it a not-very-economical purchase.

I use the tumbler for composting vegetable scraps to help give our yard more organic fertilizer..(we live in a yard that is predominantly clay, a difficult substance for gardening>)

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
I purchased two so I would have a constant compost process going. One in the composting process and one I can add to. I did spray paint the metal support legs with rustoleum as the legs will rust over time. So far I have no problems but it has only been less than a month.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
I bought the Tumbler because I am renting a home. It takes up little space, can be moved and was not too ugly. I have been using the tumbler to make soil using leaves and other yard waste and some food prep scraps. I have mixed green and brown and also added a small amount of steer manure. I live in the Pacific Northwest and we have had an unusually wet year. The frame of the Tumbler has rusted so if the landlord does come by, it now looks like junk. I found the Tumbler very hard to turn when loaded. I learned quickly that the lid lets in rainwater so I have to remember to leave it turned with the door facing the ground or the compost gets too wet. As the stuff decomposed the turning action tended to wrap things up into leaf-covered balls. I chopped up the balls and added starter after 3 months hoping to speed up the process and it has taken over 6 months to get anything I can use. I would not recommend this product.

Comments about Compost Tumbler:
With two stationary composters already in place and active, we were looking for something that would make mixing our collections a bit easier - the tumbler was it! It was easy to put toghether (although don't do it in your living room!) and we were able to put it to work right away!
