    Cons

    • Difficculty with door
    • Flimsy

    Best Uses

      Comments about Compost Tumbler:

The small size is a plus for low-volume gardeners. the price was attractive. However the sliding door does NOT slide. I am a reasonably strong healthy woman, but it takes both arms, one leg and a strong back to open the composter's door. And to shut it. And what happens when the unit is in the hot sun? The cold winter air? If the barrel expands or contracts with temperature fluctuations, I am sunk. Shipping the item back was not an option for me as the cheapest method was well over $50.00. I will try to jerry-rig the door but it irks me to have to modify a product I paid good money for.

      Comments about Compost Tumbler:

Best thing I can say is that it is off the ground and movable unlike the last one we had. Worst thing is that it seems to be tilting a bit. Wish the legs were a little sturdier.

I purchased it specifically for kitchen waste. It has been at least 2 months, and don't have finished compost yet. Also noted it dries out very quickly in the Texas heat. I hope it improves!!

I just got started using this so I haven't had anything totally broken down yet. It takes a little longer than I thought but I'm just anxious to see the end result. It is very easy to set up, fill, & turn though.

I have done compost with just chicken wire to hold it together and having to flip it every 14 days so doing compost this way is such a breeze. When I put something in new I give it a big spin.Every time I open it I am witnessing the composting coming to life.Make sure you put it in the sun is important. The only time you smell it is when it's open. It's not an eye sore but rather it's blends in being black.I love it and can't wait till my 1st batch is done. Thanks
