Pros
- Encourages Compost Gold
- Secret Stash
- Stylish and easy to use
- Unbeatable Convenience
Cons
- handle with care
Best Uses
- Compost From Your Kitchen
This sits right on my red kitchen counter. It replaces a little bucket which had to be emptied daily. We are encouraged to compost everything possible. My husband did not even know what it was since it is so attractive. What a great idea..grapefruit and orange peels, egg shells, teabags and pepper cores, among many, have found a new home on the way to our compost. A rare find!
- Was this a gift?:
- No
Pros
Cons
- Difficult To Use Bags
- poor shape
- Too Heavy
Best Uses
- door stop
Trying to empty the contents with one of the
bio-bags is almost impossible due to the large bottom tapering to the smaller top. We quit using the bags for this reason. The design would be improved with a constant size top to bottom.
The weight of the item itself is heavy & ackward to handle. The lid fits poorly to the base.
- Was this a gift?:
- No
Pros
- Attractive
- Good handle
Cons
- Capacity A Little Low
- Hard to empty
Best Uses
Problem is, when used with bio bags, you fill it up and if its packed at all (which for its size usually is) you are trying to pull 6-7" diameter of scraps packed into the bottom out through the mouth (top) which is roughly 5" diameter. Without a liner bag, maybe that works okay, but with a liner bag, the bag tends to seal on the mouth of the jar and between trying to pull 7" of stuff through a 5" hole and the suction created when the bag seals against the mouth of the jar... It can be a minor pain. Will try without the bio bags, but I thought they were an answer to the "who gets to wash the compost container" question.
Pros
Cons
- Does Not Hide Bag
- Heavy
Best Uses
If this was made of plastice, it would address the heavy weight factor and make it user-friendly for one with arthritis issues in the hand. To eliminate bag showing (since you do tout that design hides bag, yet it does not) perhaps placing the handle on the outside colored, removable "sleeve" would solve this issue.
Pros
- Great Design
- Great handle
- No odors
Cons
- Breakable
- Heavy
Best Uses
I really like the handle, size and design of this compost container. Even though it looks great I prefer to keep it under the sink. My only fear is that because it's so heavy and made of ceramic it will get hit and break. Highly doubt individual pieces can be purchased. Filter seems to be lasting a long time. Bio bags a must!
Pros
- Attractive
- Easy to clean
Cons
- Bag Shows
- Difficult to remove bag
Best Uses
- Countertop Compost
I like having an attractive container for kitchen waste but wish the top was wider for easier removal of compostable bags.
Pros
- Convenient Attractive
- Easy To Use Beneficial
Cons
Best Uses
- Kitchen scraps
This is an attractive addition to the kitchen counter to conceal food scraps for composting. Love it.
Pros
- Nice Size Great Colors
Cons
- Full Bags Do Not Come Out
- Smaller At The Top
Best Uses
- Compost Great
- Has Filter For Bad Smells
Except for getting a full bag out of the container, we like it very well. It is best to use a bag as it is breakable and feels breakable.
Pros
- Holds alot
- Nice Wide Top
- Sturdy
Cons
- Hard To Get Full Bag Out
- Slave To The Bags
Best Uses
- Countertop
nice looking on the counter
Pros
- Attractive
- Easy to use
Cons
- Hard To Remove Biobag
Best Uses
- Kitchen Compost
Because the container narrows toward the top, it is hard to remove a full biobag. A cylinder design would have solved this problem.
