Award-Winning Compact VegTrug™ is a Convenient, All-in-One Growing System

  • Winner of the 2012 Green Thumb Award for Outstanding New Product!
  • Grow a productive vegetable garden in a small space
  • Built to last of solid wood, with dovetail joints and a food-safe finish
  • VIDEO: How to assemble the VegTrug

Grow plants at an easy working height in this unique patio garden; no bending or kneeling to plant, tend and harvest. The compact size is ideal for smaller spaces, and the elevated bed means no weeds and fewer pests, too. The V-shape makes efficient use of space and planting mix — grow deep-rooted plants like tomatoes in the center, shallow-rooted crops like salad greens along the edges. Includes a fitted fabric liner to keep soil contained while letting excess water drain. Plastic feet protect wood from wet surfaces. Quality construction and easy assembly.

Sustainably Harvested Wood
  • FSC-certified, sustainable, plantation-grown fir with non-toxic stain; plastic feet; fabric liner
  • 39-1/4" L x 30" W x 31-1/2" H
  • Holds 190 quarts of container mix
  • Easy assembly; requires a Phillips screwdriver and adjustable wrench
  • Liner fabric is imported

      Drilled holes don't match up

      Pros

        Cons

        • Drilled Holes Did Not Mat

        Best Uses

It's put together but was much more of a project to do than expected. Some of the drilled holes did not match up, so with one side attached the other size didn't fit. Became a two person task. Had to un-do and figure out the problem -- just annoying.

But it looks great and I'm anxious to get it planted, now that Spring is here.

I like the above ground convenience of this product. I added wheels so that it could be moved around my extra large deck. Large enough to plant all the herbs that I currently use in cooking.

I purchased this last year: my first foray into elevated gardening. Construction perfect: everything lined up. Took more soil than expected as it does pack down. Moisture-retaining soil well worth it in hot climes. At end of summer I pulled some items, planted parsley @ center, greens/lettuce around edges, and even with a 23 degree winter (in Calif!) the parsley shielded tender tarragon and other herbs underneath. Last week pulled up winter lettuce and sowed many seeds which are already germinating. Another small trug is on my b-day list (hint, hint DH.)

Would have given this product 5 stars, except the predrilled holes did not line up and had to get manpower (my husband) to assist with assembly. Also, the leg caps do not fit tight and easily fall off when moving. Overall, a nice product I have been ogling at since they came out and am glad I purchased one.

We have a serious deer problem - so I purchased the Trug to place on the patio, hoping the deer would not come that close to the house. So far it's worked. I purchased tomato plants that are intended for container growth and they are thriving. I also added herbs.
My grown kids were impressed so I purchased Trugs for their decks.

The Veg Trug was a gift for my Dad. When building, the parts don't align properly, however, it is still useable for the intended purpose. My Dad is using it as an herb garden.

I never received the product. It was sent to Fed ex with 2 shipping labels. No one followed up until after I sent two emails! Finally they discovered it was sent to the wrong address AND now they were out of stock on the item!
Last year I ordered an paid in full for a garden cart that took 45 days to ship.
I am done with Gardners...no more purchases from me.
