This small-space composter has a compact footprint and is ideal for your deck, patio, garage, back stoop, even a rooftop. Simply fill the two-tier box with chopped kitchen scraps, alternating with layers of Eco-co® Coir and Super Hot® Compost Starter, both sold separately. (The coir provides a source of "brown" ingredients to layer with the "green" kitchen scraps, and the compost starter contains beneficial microbes to speed the composting process.) Ventilated sides ensure good airflow and the lid discourages animal pests. A drain tube at the bottom allows you to collect nutrient-rich liquid compost tea. Once the composter is full, allow two to three months for finished compost. You can increase capacity by adding a third tier to your Compact Compost System with the Compact Compost System Extension, sold separately. (We recommend a maximum of three tiers.)
