Exclusive | Earth-Friendly Eco-co® Coir for Composting, Planting and More!

  • Carbon-rich coir balances nitrogen-rich kitchen scraps in the compost pile
  • An effective and economical planting mix for use in containers
  • May be added to garden beds to loosen clay soil
  • Pack of 12 bricks

Derived from coconut husks, carbon-rich Eco-co® Coir is handy for layering with nitrogen-rich kitchen scraps and lawn clippings in the compost pile, and it makes a good bedding material for worm composters. Our exclusive Eco-co® Coir is also an earth-friendly planting mix for use in pots, planters and window boxes, or as a peat-free alternative when you make your own planting mixes. Unlike other coirs, our Eco-co Coir undergoes a special process to remove salts and to balance the pH for optimal plant growth. Eco-co Coir has excellent water-holding capacity yet drains well — so important for healthy root growth. Our blend is a mix of fine and coarse grinds to provide the perfect environment for plant roots. Simply add water and each convenient compressed brick expands to 10 quarts of fluffy mix.

Sustainable Material
  • Natural coir
  • Each brick expands to 10 dry quarts for a total of 4-2/3 cubic feet
  • Just add water to expand each brick

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:

I have purchased this before for a worm farm. At that time the product was great. Fine and very evenly shreeded. That was about 18 months ago and they have changed the size of the bricks and the shreeding size. one more thing is this needs to be rinsed well the PH is too acidic. It killed 4 of my tomato seedings; I blame myself I should have checked the PH. Postive note customer service was first rate. They compted the order for me rather then have me return it.

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:

I had problems with peat moss mixes repelling water when the surface of potted plants dried out. Since coir is hygroscopic, it sucks the water into the potting mix when added at about 1 to 4 ratio after being hydrated.

Love this stuff, buy a 12 pack every year for all kinds of uses. Use it in the worm composter, use it in flower pots to lighten up the soil, use it on top the pots as a mulch, many, many more uses. The 12 pack is a great price for a great product.

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:

This coco expands and breaks apart beautifully in warm water, and then draws the moisture in, eliminating the need for messy drainage. It is currently used in mushroom compost, but the feeder beans in the mix are loving it, and taking over the mini myco garden! This stuff is nicely coarse, so it should be great for hydroponics as well. Our next venture....'maters in coco!

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:

I keep red wiggler worms in my home year round. They live in my worm box. They eat my food scraps and make rich worm castings for use on my house plants as well as in my gardens. Worms need a bedding to mix with the food scraps, so they remain happy and healthy. I used to use old shredded newspapers and leaves. It was OK and free, but then I learned that might be too much acid for the very active worm colony I wanted to have. When I purchased the coir, which I had used for other gardening needs, I realized how great, compact, and pH neutral it was. I have noticed more activity and population growth since I started using coir. It makes my worms happy, which makes them eat more garbage, which creates more worm castings, which makes my plants grow better, which makes me happy. If you don't have a box of worms for pets, give them a try. They don't smell. They don't get fleas. They don't pee on the rug or scratch at the door. You can go away on a two week vacation and leave them home alone. You don't buy food for them. They make food for your plants and gardens. And, in my case, my grandsons love to play with them when they come to visit. Get worms, and give them a coir bed to sleep with. I'm serious! You will be glad you did. By the way, if you get worms get some cantaloup and give them the rinds. Cantaloup is their favorite food! A ten brick pack will last a long time however you use them.
