Exclusive | Eco-co® Coir Bricks Re-Balance Your Compost
- Carbon-rich coir balances nitrogen-rich kitchen scraps in the compost pile
- Speeds up the composting process and improves the quality of the compost
- Compressed coir bricks are compact and convenient
- Pack of 10 bricks
Kitchen scraps, lawn clippings and garden waste are the nitrogen-rich "green matter” in a compost pile. For efficient composting, they need to be balanced with carbon-rich "brown matter.” Each of these compact bricks of all-natural coconut fiber (coir) expands to make about 2-1/2 dry gallons of carbon-rich, odor-free material. Layer it into your compost pile whenever you add fresh food scraps. Also makes an economical base for potting mix, and good bedding material for worm composters.
- Natural coir
- Each brick expands to 2-1/2 dry gallons
- Just add water to expand each brick

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:
I bought these in the 10 pack as it was much more economical. I do a lot of gardening in pots, and find these bricks economically extend the potting soil quite well. They also hold on to more moisture, reducing need for water. My only complaint is they do not expand to 2 gallons as stated in description which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

- No Heavy Lifting
- Odor Free
Cons
- Does Not Expand Enough

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:
It is nice not having to lift the heavy bags of soil, but it seems these bricks do not expand as much as described. I followed the directions. Any tips?

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:
This is the only product I have found that allows plant growth in a clay soil. Dig a hole 3 times the size of your plant and use the coir mixed with top soil in a 2 to 1 ratio when placing it in your yard. The coir-soil mix will allow root growth in a hostile clay environment.

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:
For the composter I got (Compact Compost System) one brick was well more than enough to get it started. I reconstituted one brick, and only used about 30% of it to start up my composting. Once the composter was about half full, I put in another thick layer. Then a thin third layer after another addition of kitchen scraps. Since this was a pack of 10 bricks, these will last me a LONG time. The bricks are easy to work with.

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:
These coconut coir bricks are great for balancing out our predominately green compost scraps. We have two compost tumblers and even though we add egg cartons and paper from time to time, we needed more "browns." These bricks are easier to reconstitute and incorporate for great composite or planters.
Pros
- Attractive
- Odor Free
Cons
- Leaks
Best Uses

Comments about Eco-co™ Coir Bricks, Pack of 10:
We have a concrete three-level fountain in our front patio. We don't use the structure as a water feature. We have wanted to make it a display garden for Spring, Fall, and Winter. We can find no inserts to place on the tiers. We toyed with the idea of coir as a planting medium, but found that it leaks and we have no drainage pathway. Recently, we started using grow-boxes and discovered that coir is used along with your self-watering soil media in grow-boxes. We recently started an amarylis bulb in coir; we transplanted our epiphyte into a core planter. We like CocoPeat!
