Some gardeners dislike plastic mulches, but want something more permanent and more effective than bark mulch. This edging is made of coco fibers bonded with natural latex rubber. Used on their own (and pinned down at the edges with Earth Staples) they can be mowed over — no trimmer needed.

Seems to be doing a good job as a bed edger and keeping out the weeds. Definitely makes it easier to mow close to the flower bed. Only con is that it is extremely hard to cut.

I used the coco mulch edging around most of my yard and spent over $2,000 this year buying various products mostly, this edging, rubber edging, pins and the coco mulch blocks. The color faded within 2 weeks. Grass has been growing through the edging within a few weeks of it being installed. I am very disappointed in this product since I was hoping to find eco-friendly products that would help reduce the time needed to maintain the garden. I feel the price is expensive for the quality of the product. If it kept weeds and grass from growing through, it would be well worth its price. Gardeners Supply should send me and its other customers that purchased this product a refund. What a waste of time and money this product was!

A friend gave me two strips of the coco edging, and I wondered what I'd do with it, since I love just seeing the dirt at the edge of the garden. I have a garden rectangle in the middle of the lawn, and bordering the woods. It's made up of quite a few cobblestone raised beds. I always have a problem with how to exactly and neatly border the garden dirt paths, which surround the rectangle. I tried the edging there. It was perfect! The grass grows right up to it, and we can mow with one wheel riding on the edging. It works perfectly. I ordered a few more sets, and also the earth staples to hold them in place. I'll take them up this winter and store them rolled up in the green house or tool shed. I never thought I'd ever use anything like this and wouldn't have tried it if my friend had not given me some to try.

I put this down a year ago. It has faded a lot, which is good because it was very red to begin with. I have a lot of curvy beds, and installing it was a challenge. At this point I'm disappointed because a lot of grass is coming up through it. I think it's better than nothing, but certainly not what I had hoped for.

Opened one of two boxes. Color was a hideous red. Immediately packed up and sent back to company.

I used the coco fiber edging as a border to keep grass from creeping into mulch beds and along sidewalks. I'm hoping no grass or weeds will grow through it over time. I do not enjoy weeding and trimming all the time. I like that it is a natural product made from coconut fibers.
I was very disappointed in the color of the edging. It is very reddish when first opened; however, after a week in the sun and rain it fades to a very light orange shade. I have brown mulch in my beds and ordered the walnut color for this and some of the rubber mulch edging. The rubber edging is a much better color and seems to be holding the color better. I have only installed these products over the past month so I don't know how they will survive a PA winter. At this time I am undecided if I would recommend these products to a friend - they are expensive. I'm hoping to get at least a five year return from the products for the cost involved. I don't know if they will accomplish what I want them to do (prevent grass and weed growth through them) for that length of time.

I use this as an edging about the garden because I have prolific weeds that even grow on top of mulch. Nothing gets through this stuff.

I put this around the outside edges of my raised beds and the walk areas between my raised beds, in an attempt to finally win the battle of the grass and weeds trying to take over these areas. Alas what a disappointment when after just a few weeks the grass is coming right through the fibers, no deterrent at all to the grass and weeds! What a waste of money this particular product was!
