Coco Fiber Edging Stops Weeds Better Than Bark Mulch

Some gardeners dislike plastic mulches, but want something more permanent and more effective than bark mulch. This edging is made of coco fibers bonded with natural latex rubber. Used on their own (and pinned down at the edges with Earth Staples) they can be mowed over — no trimmer needed.

  • Lightweight and easy to work with
  • Permeable to water, air and nutrients
  • Lasts season after season
  • Can be used alone, or covered with mulch for a classic look
  • Ideal for edging flower beds, drives and walkways
  • Secure with Earth Staples (sold separately)
  • Recycled Coconut Fibers

The edging stretched and became uneven and 'wavy' as soon as it was wet, and it continues to look unkempt regardless of how many times I re-tack it down after rain or watering.

          A reasonable alternative for edging.

Comments about Coco Fiber Edging, 6" x 12':

The wheels of lawn mowers will go over it, so there is no need to weed-whack around it. However, every other year it needs to be taken up, the grass that has grown through and over it removed, and then put down again

Edging around flower/vegtable beds. Fails to keep the weeds and grass from coming up through the edging. Fails to go around slight curves very easily.

Edging is being used under fencing to reduce growth of weeds and grass. Less time is being spent removing weeds and grass growing in raspberry garden. I would have preferred a darker color.

We purchased some of this a couple of years ago just to see how effective it would be at keeping the grass from growing into the area around the plantings next to our deck. It works great! There is still a good edge and mowing has not been a problem since it is installed flush with the ground. We are so pleased that it is holding up so well.

I tried to get the stuff to lie down as it is curled when it comes and it takes forever to get it to lie down. I expected it to be in short mats instead of long and am not sure how to cut it to make it work. It does keep the weeds out for sure

I purchased these for the paths and edging around my garden. They lasted long enough for my husband to run over them with the riding lawn mower. I will try again, but add bricks to the help deter the blades of the mower.
