In an older home with dormers, we have been battling cluster flies for 5 years. Some days, the buzzing was like an alarm clock waking the people in the guest bedroom. A national pest control company has been treating our home quarterly for 3 years, with no real impact. The south-facing rooms are covered with honeycomb shades, but flies would gather behind them in the dozens on a typical winter day with sunshine. Since installing the Cluster Buster, that number has reduced to an occasional fly every month. However, I did not have Cluster Busters in other rooms. Noticing a constant presence of than 5-10 flies daily on average in the downstairs area, I re-ordered a Cluster Buster for the large picture window in the west-facing dining room. Flies continue to be seen on the window daily and do not enter the trap. Whether there is a connection to the amount of window space, the location, the fact that the other windows are covered, or some other unknown reason, the flies just don't seem to be reduced in the least in the downstairs window with the trap. Upstairs it has made a marked reduction to almost completely eliminating the problem. So depending upon your window, the orientation of the window in your home, and your specific needs, this may or may not reduce the presence of Cluster Flies in your home. My pest control representative told me the spraying will only be effective for flies and ladybugs for a day or two, so I was eager to find something which would provide relief from these dirty little pests. I'm not convinced this is the solution, but it was able to improve the condition for me.
