Comments about Cattail Feeder:
The top needs to be removed to fill, which causes the treading to strip and the top no longer fits tightly. The leaves bend easily and then break off. Do not buy this product unless you are willing to replace it very six months or so.

Comments about Cattail Feeder:
This feeder is very attractive and looks good in a garden area. Birds are attracted to it and can easily feed off the seeds. It is very difficult to fill- top of cattail has a metal piece across the top and seeds spill to the ground no matter how careful you try to be.

Comments about Cattail Feeder:
I have purchased for myself, received as a gift and given as a gift. It is a great gift for that hard to shop for person or any garden or bird lover. I love to have 3 at a time because they add a nice touch to my yard even when there is no seed in them. However when they are full the variety of birds attracted is wonderful.

Comments about Cattail Feeder:
I add red or yellow plastic gems to mine rather than bird seed. Use it as attractive deocr to my garden area year round. The red helps to attract hummingbirds; makes garden area pretty even with snow on the ground.

Comments about Cattail Feeder:
We have given this feeder every chance in our climate (mid-Michigan). We've gone through 4 of them now and they all did the same thing. The lower cup is brazed or welded to the "stem" of the cattail. There is no way for moisture to escape and therefore the seeds in the lower cup become soggy and retain moisture, which is held against the weld at the bottom of the cup. The cup and the weld rust out and the cattail head falls off. VERY POOR DESIGN IN MY MIND. I could never recommend this feeder unless you like to replace them frequently.

Comments about Cattail Feeder:
Absolutely adorable addition to my garden, and the chickadees flock to it. For those who complain that birdseed spills out of the wire mesh: read the label! It says SUNFLOWER SEED. For those who think birds can't figure out how to use it because there's no perch: it's made for clinging birds! Pros: cute as can be, great garden ornament, clinging type sunflower seed eaters love it. Cons: needs to be driven into soft soil, seed capacity is only a cup or two, not super easy to fill (although I use a cut off milk jug for a funnel and that helps.) The only real drawback is that it is so short that the birds become targets for cats. This is a great gift idea and I intend to purchase several for Christmas presents this year.

It looks so cute in the garden. It adds the right whimsical touch. The birds love it & empty it way too often!
