Care of the Funky Chickens

These folk-art pieces are individually handcrafted of steel, with the most charming details. If left to oxidize naturally, the surface will turn to a pleasant rusty patina. To help retain the existing fi nish, you can apply a clear, exterior-grade, polyurethane sealant (available at most paint stores).

If a sealant is applied, make sure it is completely dry before exposing the statues to moisture or sunlight. Polyurethane requires regular maintenance and a new coat must be applied before deterioration of the first coat begins, about once a year.

Note: Being handpainted, variations and irregularities in shading and color are natural and not thought of as flaws.
