I use this product for starting seeds indoors and putting potted plants on the matting to keep my plants moist at all times outdoors.
The only thing wrong with this product, is if you don't have water soaking on the matting , you plants will suffer.

This is an excellent value! If you start a lot of seeds this is the best way to get capillary matting for all your flats. The product is high quality and easy to cut to size. It works very well to water your seed flats from the bottom, thus avoiding the dreaded damping-off fungi. I highly recommend this product.

This capillary matting is a worry free way of keeping seedlings and plants watered. The most work involved is checking to see that the water supply is constant. Plants grow quickly and beautifully using this matting.

Instructions were not provided with the mat, although it's pretty self-explanatory. Have to use caution if putting one end of mat in a water reservoir for on-going watering. The mat is very good at transferring water to the seed trays, and will flood them if too much water is in the reservoir.

This wicking mat works like a charm. There is advice out there that suggests using any old cotton fabric as a wick. Sure that would be free (or nearly free), but this works so much better. The easiest way I know to water seed starts.
