Comments about Capillary Matting, 3 Yards:
I use it as the wick when setting up plants for self watering. It works great and I typically clean and re-use it, too. The picture on internet/catalog shows a product that is black on one side. I have used the black, and also this white. This white product works well and doesn't seem to shrink like the black does when washing/re-using it.

Comments about Capillary Matting, 3 Yards:
I use it as replacement capillary mat for seed starting kits and once my plants are transplanted into peat pots, I use a humidity rack topped with a capillary mat in a tray to provide even moisture to my new seedlings until they are planted out in the garden. It provides even moisture to the roots without sitting in water.
I also use it to line my coir plant hangers.

Comments about Capillary Matting, 3 Yards:
I bought this matting for my seed starting set up. I am disappointed that it is the the black backed matting as shown in the photo. I am afraid that roots will burrow into this matting and create problems come plant-out time.

Comments about Capillary Matting, 3 Yards:
This came with my two-tier seed starting stand. After uses of one month, I took the seedlings in their pots off of it (to "pot up").
There were many roots growing in it.
I tried to scrub the general junk off of it with a soft scrub brush, thinking that I could reuse it next year, if I take very good care of it the rest of this season.
No way.
While I am impressed with the watering ability of this mat, I thought that I could use it more than one season. This is just my assumption. I will order it next Spring, and will be prepared to factor in the cost of my seedlings.
I rated it as average as the pros and the cons cancel out each other, basically.

Comments about Capillary Matting, 3 Yards:
I used your self watering trays for years but they finally wore out. So I bought the capillary mating. It works great. I use it under seed starting trays and put the cow pots directly on it

Comments about Capillary Matting, 3 Yards:
I've been growing most of my plants from seeds for several years now and decided to construct my own self-watering seed-starting trays. So far, the capillary matting has worked as I hoped and has relieved me of the chore of frequent watering of my seedlings.

Comments about Capillary Matting, 3 Yards:
I wore out the piece that came with a "self watering tray" for my seedlings under grow lights. I will try it as a liner under fence planters that have limited soil and dry out quidckly. I plan to set the planter in a second one the same size in which I've blocked the drainage holes, with the capillary matting in between. Then the second planter will act as a reservoire.

Comments about Capillary Matting, 3 Yards:
I have not used this yet. This is replacing my old capillary matting that I purchased a few years back. It was black topside, with gray underside, much sturdier than this is. But will give it a try next Spring.
