Comments about Buttermilk Compost Crock:
Nice enough to keep on the counter. Much better .than a stainless pail which is unattractive, has a hard-to-fit top, and is unsuitable for the dishwasher. Perfect size.

Comments about Buttermilk Compost Crock:
This crock holds a lot of kitchen compost. I am going to buy some of the compostable bags to use with it and give those a try too, but it is great on its own. It is designed to eliminate odors and prevent fruit flies. It looks attractive on the counter too.

Comments about Buttermilk Compost Crock:
This is our first compost container and it is great- looks nice on the counter next to the sink and filter keeps odors in. I don't carry it by the handle, just because it is more secure to hold the crock. I am very happy and would recommend this.

Comments about Buttermilk Compost Crock:
If the color was right, this is a beautiful Crock. It was expensive to return- double the S/H I paid for the order to deliver!; I should have kept it even though I bought another gift else where, for true composting.

Product was as expected and suits my needs. Only negative thing is the color. Described as buttermilk, but is yellow. I was expecting and wanted an off white.

Comments about Buttermilk Compost Crock:
I bought a stainless steel compost pail that lasted about two years before rust ate a hole in the bottom. Within weeks, the stainless steal composter was showing rust. That has not been the case with this large, enamel caoted compost pail. One drawback, be careful which way you tilt the pail when emptying. The handle will slip off if not careful.

This unit appears to be very durable and an attractive addition to the kitchen. It seals relatively well, so odors do not escape and it does not attract insects.
