You can't get an easier answer for making a fence for plants or vegetables, keeping in the dog or keeping unwanted animals out of your garden than with a Build-A-Ball Set. All you need is some poles and fencing and there you go. Just remember to bring one with you to get the right size poles.

The ball connections don't stay together well. The swivel clip connectors are more vestile. Need some type of spike to secure into the ground.

With duct tape, I gerry-rigged a solution, but the ball sockets were too shallow to stabilize the structure, and, since real bamboo is variable in diamter, the fit was not precise. As a result, I have the fence I craved, but the aesthetic is early-modern elementary craft project.
On another subject, would like products that tolerate wintering-over outside. Most of yours need babysittig during the cold months.

I have to grow lettuce in the shade because it gets too hot and humid in the Baltimore area. I made a tent to shade my lettuce...my guinea pigs are grateful for their endless supply of greens.

I purchased these balls with the faux bamboo poles. When I tried to set up a framework to hold netting to keep the birds out of my strawberries, the balls did not hold the poles tightly enough to keep things stable. I finally just used them to top the poles so that when I put the netting over them it wouldn't tangle on the poles. Had to use swivel connectors to actually hold the framework in place. A bit disappointing...

I used the product with the faux bamboo poles to create a structure around my young fruit trees. This structure supported my garden fabric to protect the trees from freezing nights. The connectors made building the structure a lot easier!
