Pros
- Elastic Wrist Bands
- Zipper Allows Face Wipe
Cons
- Can Touch The Face
Best Uses
- Summer Gardening
Now I don't need to wear a heavy long-sleeved shirt to protect against bugs. REI makes a head net with a metal band to keep it away from the face - a wide brimmed hat might be a substitute. I like not having to adjust the wrists, and don't really need to adjust the waist. The medium is pretty big - should have gotten a small.
Pros
- Easy to slip on
- Keeps out bugs
Cons
- Facepiece obscures vision
Best Uses
- Outdoors
I like it because bugs realy can't bit through. I thought I would need a shirt underneath it, but such was not the case. I wear it at night when every insect wants to make you their lunch and I didn't get any bites.
Pros
- Super thin and not hot
Cons
- The head is a bit dark
Best Uses
- Keeps bugs from biting
I get bit all the time in the spring and summer especially when I'm doing dog poop pickup. I am usually covered head to toe and have bug spray all over. THis is perfect because I can wear thin pants and then something light under the jacket. the head part is darker than the rest which I don't know why and can be a bit claustrophobic but works like a charm! It is just what I needed and will be using for a long time.
Pros
- Comfortable
- Fits loosely
- Keeps out black flies
- Reasonably Priced
- Well Made
- Works as advertised
Cons
Best Uses
- Keep out black flies
This is the 2nd spring in a row that we've had a problem with biting black flies and their bites are very painful and irritating. I saw this product in the most recent Gardener's Supply catalog and knew it was worth trying. I bought a medium and it fits loosely but is not too oversized as to be a nuisance. Did some gardening and could hear the black flies trying to get at me but they weren't successful. Halleluia! If you'd like to see a photo of how the bug jacket fits an average-build woman, I recently put one on my gardening blog, susansinthegarden.blogspot.com. Just scroll down to the post. Since telling some of my Master Gardener colleagues about the bug jacket, they've bought one as well and are very pleased. It was definitely worth the price! My only constructive criticism is that I wish manufacturers of head nets would design them so you could see through them a little more easily but visibility is still quite good in this product.
