Sturdy gauge metal with strong connection points. Some may want to put cushions on seating area. They included the Pantone color number to get an exact match when purchasing touch-up paint.

I really like these chairs. The web page noted that they would arrive with chipped paint, but it was not noticeable. They are a fun color, are quite stable, and set up/knock down easily. I use them as extra party seating on our covered porch, so rust is not an issue. The price was amazing for the value.
